Birth Doula Services

Miriam is a Birth doula certified by Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She provides Childbirth education classes and support during labor and delivery. Miriam is currently not practicing as a Doula to devote more time to her Acupuncture practice. She is happy to provide referrals to other doulas.

Childbirth Education Classes - In two Pre-birth classes you will receive: Education about stages of labor and delivery, Positions for labor and delivery, Breathing techniques, Imagery and relaxation techniques, Massage and Acupressure for efficient labor, nutritional guidance for pregnancy and post-partum.

Doula Support - Miriam is on call 2 weeks before your due date and present throughout the entire labor and delivery up until 1 hour after delivery. During labor she is present to support you as best you need. Acupressure, acupuncture, massage, aromatherapy, heat therapy, music and position changes are all utilized to ensure a healthy labor and delivery.

On-call Acupuncturist - Miriam is available for house-calls in cases of stalled-labor, failure to progress in labor and special circumstances.

Post-Natal Treatments - Miriam is available for house-call for post-natal treatments. Acupuncture is beneficial for the following symptoms that may arise after childbirth:

Back Pain
Perineal Pain
Depression/Anxiety
Cold and Cough
Insufficient lactation
Mastitis
Constipation/Diarrhea
